A breast lift can have a dramatic impact on the appearance of your breasts, helping them look perkier and more youthful. However, you should think carefully about the timing of your procedure since certain factors, such as future pregnancies, might negate the benefits of your breast lift.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding will result in changes to your breasts. Often, they will become larger while you breastfeed. This can adversely impact your results, leading to sagging issues much earlier than you would normally expect following a breast lift. For this reason, Dr. Kim generally recommends waiting until you are done having children before undergoing a breast lift. Otherwise, you may be returning for a follow-up procedure earlier than you’d like.
While future pregnancies may potentially undo the outcome achieved by your breast lift, you should still be able to breastfeed following the procedure. In most cases, your milk ducts will remain intact during a breast lift, enabling you to breastfeed at a later date if you do in fact become pregnant. However, the fact still remains that your goal of having perkier, younger looking breasts will most likely be undermined by a future pregnancy, and you should think long and hard before deciding to move forward with the procedure if you are not done having children.
