Even if you have had breast augmentation in the past, pregnancy and breastfeeding can significantly change the appearance of your breasts. Your breasts may have become stretched and saggy, causing an overall loss of volume.
To return the size and shape of your breasts to a pre-pregnancy appearance, you should first consider what you want from the surgery:
- Are you dissatisfied with the size, or is it the shape and position that you would like to improve?
- Do you like the appearance of your breasts when they are supported by a bra?
- Do you plan to have more children?
If you are happy with the size of your breasts, you may benefit the most from a breast lift. This procedure will reshape your breasts by removing excess tissue and fat and raise the position of your nipple and areola. A breast lift gets rid of the drooping effect caused by breastfeeding.
If you would like a larger breast size in addition to reshaping, you may want to consider breast augmentation.
You should also consider if you plan to have more children. Additional pregnancies will undo the results of your surgery. If you plan to become pregnant again, you may want to wait to have breast surgery.
