Tumescent liposuction
Tumescent liposuction is also called traditional liposuction. It is the most common liposuction procedure in the U.S. The cosmetic surgeon will begin by administering anaesthesia (intravenous sedation or local anaesthesia). Later, he will inject saline liquid into the area which is to undergo liposuction.
The solution contains medication which will minimize the pain and the bleeding. Then he will make a small insicison on the skin and reach into the layer of fat. Next, he will insert a thin hollow tube (connected to a vacuum) into the incision. The tube is moved around in the layer of fat to break it and suck it up through the vacuum.
Vaser Lipo
Vaso Lipo is an ultrasound assisted liposuction procedure. In this procedure, Dr. Kim will use a special vibrating cannula to liquefy fat cells. The vibrating cannula produces ultrasound energy.
As it passes through the fat deposit, the cells are liquified by the energy. The fat is then removed through suction. Vaser Lipo is a tissue selective procedure; only fat cells are targeted and other tissues are protected from any sort of damage. This is a powerful technique and it can remove substantial amounts of fat. Yet it is gentle enough to work on sentitive areas like the arms and neck.
